FXRISK Manual

You Cannot Outsource Judgement

Analysts, headlines, and social feeds don’t carry your downside, so their conviction is not your risk plan.

Mechanism

Borrowed conviction collapses when price moves against you. The source isn’t there to manage your emotions or margin.

Outsourcing judgement creates a mismatch: you don’t have an invalidation plan because you don’t truly own the thesis.

You can learn from sources, but risk decisions must be yours.

Practical framing: the market is a feedback system. Your job is to remove the behaviors that produce the same loss pattern, not to “feel better” about it.

  • Turn recurring mistakes into hard gates.
  • Reduce degrees of freedom when you’re losing.
  • Make the next decision simpler than the last.
How it kills accounts

Borrow thesis → enter without invalidation → price moves against → panic → exit at worst moment → blame source → repeat.

How it kills accounts:

  1. The rule exists only in your head.
  2. Stress arrives and you improvise.
  3. Improvisation becomes inconsistency.
  4. Inconsistency becomes random results.
  5. Random results become a slow bleed.
Rule that survives

If you can’t state the invalidation level, you don’t own the trade.
Convert any external idea into your own plan before acting.
Never size bigger because someone sounds confident.

Rule that survives:

  • Write the trigger in observable terms.
  • Write the action in one sentence.
  • Write the penalty for breaking it.
Example archetype

You enter because a ‘smart account’ said so. The trade goes against you. You have no plan. You close at the low and feel betrayed. You weren’t betrayed. You outsourced.

Tell: if your rule isn’t enforceable, it’s a suggestion. Suggestions don’t survive stress.

Deep dive

Use sources correctly

Sources are inputs. Your plan is the output. If you skip the planning step, you are gambling with borrowed confidence.

Glossary: invalidation.

Field checklist

  • Write the rule in observable terms: if X, then Y.
  • Remove choices under stress. Choices become rationalizations.
  • Track the precursor: what state were you in before the mistake?
  • Make deviations costly (size down, pause, review).
  • Turn lessons into gates, not notes.
